Honestly, I don’t know what these things are officially called. I just know that they’re available everywhere. Light stands, reflector stands, background stands, boom arms… one could spend hundreds just on equipment for holding their other equipment, whereas these red, rubber-coated clamps can be had usually for no more than a buck or two.

No cheap bastard should be without these. They’re useful for holding up background materials, setting up reflectors, or for chasing around your topless model as she covers her nipples.
